CHRISSY KING Chrissy King is a Milwaukee-based ISSA certified personal trainer, lifestyle coach, and fitness blogger. She was introduced to strength training and eventually powerlifting. This once super weak young woman who hadn’t done any exercise outside of long hours of cardio (and couldn’t even do a single push up) discovered a new confidence and inner strength. She fell in love with strength training and more importantly, changed my focus and my goals. She stopped focusing on being skinny and fell in love with the process. If she had to describe herself to you, she would say that she’s a lover of heavy lifting, all things food, traveling withherhubby, and enjoying an occasional glass of wine.

KIRSTY GOSSART In her youth, Kirsty was national gymnastics champion and a competitive coach in Scotland. A severe elbow injury ended her career as a gymnast. But, in her thirties — and now living in Canada — she rediscovered the joy of handbalancing and bodyweight fitness... in her garage. It took a while to strengthen and trust her elbow, but she now shares her passion for balancing and bodyweight with an online community of students in her online handstand course, in gymnastics classes in Toronto and in workshops and events, worldwide. She loves helping people develop strength and flexibility at the same time as learning cool moves and tricks... plus she thinks this stuff makes you a flat out better person.

SHIRIN ESKANDANI My childhood dream was to become an opera singer. I come from a family of musicians and I always dreamed of singing at the Met. In my early 20s, I moved to NY with a vision and a plan. That plan turned out to be a lot messier than I had first imagined with lots of roadblocks and bump. But nine years later, with tenacity and hard work I found myself signing my first contract with the Metropolitan Opera. You would imagine that I would be beaming with pride and joy, as I saw my childhood dream come to life. I mean honestly, how many people can actually say that their childhood dreams became their reality?? However, instead of celebrating, I clearly remember signing that contract with so much anxiety and fear. I kept thinking, "I didn’t deserve this job. I wasn’t good enough. I kept imagining myself at the first rehearsal. I would be exposed for the imposter that I was.

KELLY MANZONE I live a life in movement, so a career in the fitness industry was pretty much a perfect fit for me. In my 20's I was often approached by MY fellow gym-goers to discuss this move or that piece of equipment and I realized, I love helping others learn to BE FIT, to embrace their physical-ness. I dove head first into training + certification courses -- and I LEARNED that in each client there is a uniqueness, but we are also very much the same - and more than anything -- we all rely on each other. In 2008, I found kettlebells and I now have become known for this dynamic piece of equipment. I find them to be uniquely challenging, requiring exacting strength and deep concentration. I embrace fitness tools, like kettlebells or barre work but I also know that sometimes we need nothing more than our own mind + body to create the very best workout of the day. As A lover of all things strong + focused, I work deeply to accept each person into my world who comes with a passion to move. The rest, we can train (more on that here ), but the desire to move -- that is in one's heart.

ALLISON TENNEY Movement has always been an integral part of who I am. My fitness journey started on the soccer field at five years old, and includes serving as Captain for my Division I college soccer team. Once my playing career ended, I starting coaching college soccer, with a particular focus on fitness programming and building strength in high-performing players. Marriage, two kids, and many soccer games (and injuries) later, I have found movement to be an even more important part of my life. Movement connects, empowers, enriches, and strengthens our lives. There is a transformation process that occurs when you pick up something heavy and discover your power. I love that process. The cascading effect of building strength is undeniable. It makes our everyday life easier.
