A Wee Scotland Adventure

Kirsty Grosart and Gayle Pocock invite you to hang out for a wee adventure. Weather dependent we will be spending time outside but have secured an indoor location. We will walk, run (or barely jog), play and there will be options to get upside down. Everything is optional, everyone is welcome. There are no skill prerequisites.

Optional— We will be heading outside to play, have coffee, beer etc. at 2pm depending on the weather.

Join us for an after-hours night of climbing, instruction, and good times just for the ladies. This event is hosted, sponsored, and staffed by the amazing women of our community. 

We'll kick off with a group yoga warm-up at 8:30pm and hold informal instructional sessions throughout the night for new climbers!

Walk and Roll at Eno River

Let's go for a walk in the woods!

Larissa Parson invites you to meet up at the Eno River State Park Cole Mill parking lot at noon and meander around for about an hour. Bring all the things you need to feel comfortable while hiking on a non-strenuous trail. There's a nice stretch of the Eno for clambering on boulders, so be prepared to get your feet wet!

Optionalbefore the hike, come to Larissa’s Restorative Movement class at 10am (at A Step to Health in Hillsborough) for some extra foot care.

Recess isn't just for kids! Come play in the park! We are designed to move and D3 offers an array of inspiration. Women of all movement backgrounds are invited to share their knowledge, meet and collaborate with other like minded women. Complete beginners are welcome to join and just get moving. Whether you enjoy general fitness, yoga, handstands, parkour, dance or just socialising this afternoon is for you!

Join Sarah Smith at Lake Johnson! Leisure walking in the woods is a form of movement with NUMEROUS benefits! Studies show that walking at a relaxed pace in a natural setting (aka forest bathing) reduces levels of stress hormones (like cortisol!), improves sleep quality and increases the diversity and robustness of our microbiome. Partner that with cultivating relationships and conversations with women in your local community and you have an all around health-full and fun experience! Before we start our walk we will talk about many ways to make the walk more interesting and sensory-stimulating with arm motions, pelvic position, diaphragm access and bare feet (or minimalist shoes-if you like!-no pressure) and then we will have a lovely walk around Lake Johnson's Walnut Creek Trail-before sun set for safety's sake!

Women's Adventure Walk

Join Jess Beauchemin to walk, explore, play, discover and learn as you ramble through Shevlin Park. We'll explore on and off trail, using all our senses to enjoy the park. There will be stops for games, movement challenges and quiet observation. You'll learn new skills, meet new people and see parts of the park that you may never have seen before. This walk is suitable for all ages and ability levels.

Optional— Pack a picnic lunch and we'll sit by the river and hang out post-walk.
