Come and discover what the Women's Movement Collaborative is all about.

This pop-up event will be a fun event that will bring women together to move, play, laugh, and celebrate our amazing bodies. Through games and partner activities we will learn to move in new ways, learn to trust and support each other and have fun.

The movements will be led by different instructors and opportunities will be presented for participants to contribute and share.


All women are welcome.

Intro to Handstands

Come and discover what the Women's Movement Collaborative is all about.

In this pop-up event we will be learning how to get started with handstands.

This is for beginner and intermediate handbalancers.

You will learn movements for wrist strengthening, mobility and how to apply the basics of body positioning for handstands. After developing this foundation we will learn how to get upside down, how to bail safely and how you can find your balance point.

All women are welcome.

Bend Urban Adventure Walk

Bend Urban Adventure Walk

Take a stroll along Bend's iconic Deschutes River Trail. We'll link up a few beautiful parks where there's space to explore, play and interact. Learn about ways to stay active through the winter and meet other Bend women who are passionate about getting moving outdoors! We'll celebrate at the halfway point with a coffee break downtown before the return walk to our starting point. Total distance is about 5 miles. Plan for up to 3 hours of walking, games, exploring and coffee drinking. Find more details HERE.

Ground to Grow From is a free, accessible introduction to movement practices that use the ground (or floor) as a trusted support, a dynamic partner and an ever-present teacher. We will explore patterns of mobility based on Body-Mind Centering and Natural Movement principles, learning to cultivate our strength, balance, grace and coordination from the ground up.

There will be two parts to this class:

I. 75-minute warmup: getting to know gravity, points of contact awareness, developmental patterns; fundamentals of ground movements, stretches and joint mobilization

II. 60-minute practice: dynamic and challenging ground movements, animal locomotion, balance practice & whole-body engagement with the floor

A Wee Scotland Adventure

Kirsty Grosart and Gayle Pocock invite you to hang out for a wee adventure. Weather dependent we will be spending time outside but have secured an indoor location. We will walk, run (or barely jog), play and there will be options to get upside down. Everything is optional, everyone is welcome. There are no skill prerequisites.

Optional— We will be heading outside to play, have coffee, beer etc. at 2pm depending on the weather.

Join us for an after-hours night of climbing, instruction, and good times just for the ladies. This event is hosted, sponsored, and staffed by the amazing women of our community. 

We'll kick off with a group yoga warm-up at 8:30pm and hold informal instructional sessions throughout the night for new climbers!

Women's Adventure Walk

Join Jess Beauchemin to walk, explore, play, discover and learn as you ramble through Shevlin Park. We'll explore on and off trail, using all our senses to enjoy the park. There will be stops for games, movement challenges and quiet observation. You'll learn new skills, meet new people and see parts of the park that you may never have seen before. This walk is suitable for all ages and ability levels.

Optional— Pack a picnic lunch and we'll sit by the river and hang out post-walk.
